Abstract

The purpose of the article is to provide a theoretical justification for microlearning technology as a tool for modernizing the teaching of the academic discipline «History of Central and Eastern European Countries» in the context of the digitalization of education, as well as to identify the features of its implementation in distance and blended learning formats.

The research methodology combines general scientific and special pedagogical methods. Analysis, synthesis, generalization, and systematization were used to study scientific and pedagogical literature on digital educational technologies and microlearning. A comparative method was used to compare traditional and innovative approaches to the organization of the educational process, as well as structural and functional analysis to determine the essence, principles and characteristics of microlearning. A modeling method was used to justify the procedure for introducing microlearning in the teaching of the history of Central and Eastern European countries.

The scientific novelty of the research lies in deepening the understanding of the pedagogical possibilities of microlearning technology in the process of teaching historical disciplines, in particular the course «History of Central and Eastern European Countries». It also lies in the systematization of the key characteristics and principles of microlearning, taking into account the specifics of digital, distance, and blended learning formats, and in the justification of a phased model for the implementation of microlearning as an effective tool for increasing learning motivation, individualizing the educational process and developing the professional competencies of higher education students.

Conclusions. Microlearning technology is an effective tool for modernizing the educational process, especially in the context of distance and blended learning. It allows for the structured presentation of educational material in the form of autonomous micro-modules, the combination of multimedia and interactive elements, the stimulation of student activity and the enhancement of their learning motivation.
