MODERN MODEL OF FUTURE LAW ENFORCERS’ INFORMATICS COMPETENCE

The issues of determining the essence and structure of law enforcers’ informatics competence are considered in this article. Attention is drawn to the interdependence of some directions of reforms implementation in the educational and law enforcement areas, including the processes of higher education standardization, reformation and information system development of the system of law enforcement agencies that, in turn, requires the availability of qualified human resources.
Article’s purpose: to form an idea of the current model of future law enforcers’ informatics competence. A number of consecutive tasks were solved in the process of reaching the goal. In order to determine the essence of future law enforcers’ informatics competence, the main functions performed by specialists or to be implemented in the process of reforming law enforcement units using the means of information and computer equipment have been analyzed. At the same time, a constructive etymological and ontological analysis of the mentioned pedagogical category was carried out in the context of the concepts of «computer science» and «competence».
The methodology of the paper includes the principles of objectivity of the research, methods of essential analysis of pedagogical categories, taking into account the comprehensive study of views on the subject of the research, as well as modeling methods through the meaningful presentation of the subject of the research.
Scientific novelty: Author’s definition of computer science is submitted and multiplicity of the elements of the structure of future law enforcers’ informatics competence as a subset of the interrelated tasks of computer science (as applied science) and the tasks of law enforcement agencies is presented.
Conclusions: The basic directions for further study of the subject of the research are formed in the field of structuring law enforcers’ professional functions that are performed or can be performed more effectively, using tools and methods of computer science, as well as allocating determinants that influence the emotional, cognitive, reflexive components of informatics competence.
